Scuola dei Calegheri
The 15th century Scuola dei Calegheri, which lies on the west side of Campo San Tomà, once belonged to the city's cobblers. There is a charming relief above the entrance of Saint Mark Healing the Cobbler Anianus.
Higher up on the wall, is a 14th century image of the Madonna della Misericordia, which comes from the demolished church of the Servi. The upper hall of the scuola, which is now used as a library, contains a series of frescoes from the 15th century. |
