Ponte Chiodo

The Ponte Chiodo, which is located in the sestiere of Cannaregio, is the only ancient bridge without parapets (bande) to have survived in Venice.

​Once upon a time, the majority of bridges in the city would have looked like the Ponte Chiodo. Parapets were only added following the end of the Venetian Republic. ​
