Sant' Eufemia
The ancient church of Sant' Eufemia, which was founded in the 9th century, comprises a nave and two aisles. The chancel is flanked by two chapels, one on either side. The ancient columns, with their Veneto-Byzantine capitals, are dressed in strips of faded brocade.
The portico was added in the 16th century and in the 18th century the interior of the church was given a Rococo makeover with the addition of some pretty stuccoes and paintings. The 16th century relief above the entrance depicts the Madonna and Child with Saint Roch and Saint Euphemia. The late 14th century relief of the Crucifixion, which can be seen on the portico, comes from the church of Santi Biagio e Cataldo, which was destroyed to make way for the Mulino Stucky.
