The Ca' Pesaro, the work of Baldassare Longhena, was built for the noble and wealthy Pesaro family and is situated on the Grand Canal. It was designed in the Baroque style in the middle of the 17th century, but wasn't completed until 1710, by which time Longhena had been dead for almost thirty years.
The Ca' Pesaro now houses both Venice's Museum of Modern Art and its Museum of Oriental Art. Perhaps, the most famous exhibit in the Museum of Modern Art is Gustav Klimt's painting Judith II. |
