Palazzo Belloni Battagia
Grand Canal
The Palazzo Belloni Battagia was built between 1645 and 1649, possibly to a design by Baldassare Longhena.
In 1647, the wealthy Belloni family, who commissioned the palazzo, were admitted 'by payment' into the Venetian nobility. The family's economic fortune was short-lived and shortly after the completion of the palace it was rented to the Austrian ambassador. It later became the property of the Battagia family. |
