San Marziale
While the church of San Marziale (San Marcilian) was founded in the 9th century, today's building only dates back to 1693-1714.
San Marziale is most famous for its miracle-working Madonna and Child, a 15th century polychrome wooden sculpture. The story of how the statue first arrived in the church is illustrated in the ceiling paintings, the work of Sebastiano Ricci. |
