A church dedicated to San Maurizio has stood on this site since at least the 11th century. However, the church we see today only dates back to the end of the 18th century when it was built in the neo-classical style by Giovanni Antonio Selva. Following Selva's death, in 1819, the church was completed by Antonio Diedo.
San Maurizio has been deconsecrated and now houses a small museum (Museo della Musica di Venezia) of musical instruments. |
