Ca' Foscari
Map.
The Ca' Foscari, as its name suggests, was once the property of the Foscari family. It was built by the architect, Bartolomeo Bon, for Doge Francesco Foscari, in 1453.
In 1574 King Henri III of France, the last of the Valois monarchs, briefly lodged here on his much chronicled state visit to Venice. Today the palace is the headquarters of the Universita Ca' Foscari. |
