Emporio del Sale

The Emporio del Sale, or the Magazzini del Sale, were salt warehouses and date back to a time when the Venetian Republic held the monopoly on the production of salt. The 15th century building was given a neo-classical makeover in 1835.
Part of the magnificent structure now houses the Reale Società Canottieri Bucintoro, the city's leading rowing club, which was founded in 1882. |
