San Fantin
Map.
The church of San Fantin (short for San Fantino) was first erected in the 10th century.
It was rebuilt by the Pisani family circa 1200 and rebuilt again in the 16th century. The design is usually ascribed to Scarpagnino, but it may have been continued after his death by Sansovino. The church was completed in 1564. The nave is made up of two large square bays, separated by a half-bay. The chancel, surmounted by a small cupola, is made up of a further square bay. The chancel ends in an apse. |
