San Trovaso
Open: 08.00-11.00/14.30-17.30. Sun: 08.00-11.00.
There is no such saint as San Trovaso; the name is a typical Venetian creation, a combination of San Gervasio and San Protasio.
The present church dates back to the end of the 16th century and is notable for its two identical façades, in the neo-Palladian style. In the chapel to the right of the high altar is San Trovaso's star attraction, Michele Giambono's painting of Saint Chrisogonous on horseback (c. 1450), a beautiful example of the International Gothic style.
